My new years resolution was simply to document my life more. A lot of great things happened in 2012, yet looking through my memory cards I barely have any little reminders - new year, new blog!
I received these two new MAC lipsticks for Christmas and decided I should write a little about them. I rarely wear “big” makeup (I’m ill a lot of the time, so even wearing a little makeup for me can sometimes be difficult!) I thought I should write about them as they are two beautiful colours. In the photo above I am wearing the berry coloured shimmery lipstick “New York Apple.” I'm also sporting a nuclear hangover, so I really do apologise for the hair/ skin fiasco!
The first MAC lipstick is from the Marilyn Monroe collection, Scarlet Ibis. I could not find this anywhere, neither in store nor online but I wanted it oh so badly. My lovely boyfriend went on eBay and bought it for me for double retail price. It is very similar to the classic “Russian Red” however it has a more orange hue and certainly has a warmer palette than Russian Red which I’ve always found far more blue (great for whiter teeth, not so great for my skin tone!)
The second lipstick is “New York Apple” I’ve always been very fond of MAC matte lipsticks, so I decided to skip right on out of my comfort zone and go for something shiny, a Frost Lipstick to be exact! I’ve been really digging glitter and all things sparkly this holiday season, so it’s only natural that I now want to work this sparkly goodness into my daily make up routine.
This colour is very different on every different skin tone as it is more transparent than the other lipsticks I’ve tried, however the colour on my skin is beautiful. It is a kind of warm berry cinnamon copper gold treat for my lips. The blue undertones are also working wonders on making my smokers teeth look slightly less sinful!
