Essie Nail Varnish in "Meet me at Sunset" - £7.99 - Boots
Essie nail varnishes have been hyped about all over the bloggosphere. I simply had to pick up this gorgeous colour - it actually looks exactly like the kind of orange you see in the sky on a holiday at sunset!
It's a very very very orange red. I wouldn't say it's bright orange, as all of the other "orange" nail varnishes I've used are all a lot more yellow toned.
This is opaque after 2 coats, I however used three because well, that's just what I like to do! I used Boots Seventeen "Nail Recovery" undercoat and no top coat as this colour - alike most Essie brights - is shiny and long lasting without one. I've also found that this nail varnish doesn't seem to dry with a top coat applied.
I am usually very messy when applying polish, no exceptions with this little number however the brush was easier to use than I first thought it would be (it's kinda thin but it fattens out to cover the width of my nails nicely.) I also have a major thing for not going near my cuticles as they easily stain, even with freshly painted nails it'll look like my nails have grown out the polish a bit - a nasty habit I need to get over!
I found this shade more long lasting than other Essie nail varnishes - I've worn this through 2 showers, 1 bath, 2 days at college, 2 gym sessions and 1 nine hour shift at work before I really noticed that my nails didn't look immaculate.
I can't wait for the sun to hurry up and come out so I can wear this nail varnish with a summer wardrobe!
